Yugma's Free Tier Explained — What Triggers an Upgrade
We get the same question every week: "What's actually in the free tier?" Here's the unambiguous answer.
# What free includes
- Full editor. No watermark on the studio UI.
- Unlimited scene drafts. Yes, unlimited — not metered.
- 5 AI Director compositions per day. Per-day limit, resets at midnight UTC.
- Sketchfab import. Full library, free + paid models with their license intact.
- Library panel. 30 PBR material presets, primitive shapes, your own GLB uploads.
- Real-time collab. Up to 2 collaborators per scene.
- GLB export. No watermark.
- PNG export. Watermarked (small "Made with Yugma" badge in corner).
- Embed iframe. Watermarked.
- Version history. 10 most recent saves per project.
# What Pro adds ($49/mo)
- Unlimited AI Director compositions. No daily cap.
- No watermarks anywhere. Clean PNG exports, clean embed iframes.
- USDZ export. For iOS AR Quick Look.
- Up to 8 collaborators per scene.
- Unlimited version history.
- Priority generation queue. Faster Meshy text-to-3D when the queue is busy.
- AI Material Inspector. Generate custom PBR presets from prompts.
- Custom domain on embeds. Replace
yugma.studioin embed URL with your own.
# What specifically triggers the upgrade prompt
We don't surprise users. The upgrade modal appears in exactly four places:
- Daily AI cap reached (free → Pro). Modal explains "you've used your 5 AI compositions today, upgrade for unlimited or wait until midnight UTC".
- Trying to export USDZ (free → Pro). Modal explains the AR feature and offers Pro.
- Inviting a 3rd collaborator (free → Pro). Modal explains team feature.
- Removing watermark (free → Pro). Watermark settings panel offers Pro.
Anywhere else, the free tier just works.
# What never costs more
- Loading a scene.
- Saving a scene.
- Editing manually (drag, scale, rotate).
- Importing a Sketchfab model.
- Generating a single Meshy asset (counts against daily AI cap).
- Sharing a scene with a watermarked link.
# Cancelling Pro
One click in the Customer Center. Your scenes stay; the watermark returns; daily AI cap kicks in next time you exceed it. No data loss.
# Why $49/mo
Most AI 3D tools charge $15–25/mo, yes. They're per-asset metered or have aggressive credit caps. Yugma's $49 includes unlimited scene composition and 8-seat collab — work out the per-deliverable cost on a real client project and Yugma is usually cheaper for designers serving clients.
